APPOINTMENT POLICIES, GENERAL INFORMATION, AND HOW TO SCHEDULE:

We follow all safety regulations ensuring that all tattoo artists are properly trained and licensed, and that the shop follows strict hygiene practices to prevent the spread of infections.

All persons must be over 18 years old, and provide valid identification. I provide detailed instructions on how to care for new tattoos to promote proper healing and reduce the risk of complications: Please see aftercare instructions.

Some of these suggestions will help give you the best experience possible. We give our best efforts to provide you with quality service. When booking an appointment, you agree to accept all of the policies below.

CONSULTATIONS:

The right time to schedule a consultation is when you have a rough idea of what you want, and are prepared to engage in the entire process from the start to the completion of your tattoo. Your artist can help you put together, refine, add to, and build on your idea.

When you are prepared, you’ll need to provide some general information when you contact your artist.

  1. Description of the design, or idea. Placement of where it’s going, and size (in inches).

  2. If your tattoo will be color, or black & grey?

  3. Attach any reference photos you might have to your email, or bring them in. They will help you communicate your ideas, so if you haven’t found any yet, it might be useful to look around. If not, I can help you.

  4. I’ll need to know the days of the week that are best for you to schedule. If your schedule is flexible it’s easier to get in. Weekends book out much further than weekdays.

  5. It’s not possible to find a scheduling date until I know all the previous information requested. It’s also easier to keep track of information about your tattoo if you keep replying to the original email sent that I responded to. That way I can track down all necessary information, and no details are lost, overlooked, or go missing.

All consultations are free, and required prior to all new appointments unless your design is very small; One, to three inches, or does not need a lot of time to prepare, the line drawing for the design is very simple, or is ready to be tattooed. If you are out of town, or state we can make other arrangements if a in person meeting is not possible.

PRICES AND RATES

I have a $120 minimum. The hourly rate starts at $200, and is gradually reduced depending upon how many hours you sit in per session. Below is a example to help illustrate what that looks like.

(HOURS)       ( HOURLY RATE)           (SESSION TOTAL)

1…………………………. $200                                 $200

2…………..……………..$175                                  $350

3………………………..  $167                                  $500

4………………………….$150                                  $600

5………………………….$135                                  $675

6………………………….$117                                   $700

Every hour after 6 hours, rates cap at $100, and ceases to decrease any further.

As you can see, it’s more cost effective to sit for as long as you possibly can each appointment. It’s my goal to make the process as painless as possible, and help you do exactly that.

I can give estimates on smaller designs via phone/email. But if you would like to get an estimate on larger work a consultation might be necessary.

DEPOSITS AND SCHEDULING:

All tattoo appointments require a non refundable deposit to guarantee the time & day you want to come in, and will be used towards the final cost of the last session to finish your tattoo.

The deposit amount starts at $100, and could be as high as $800 depending on the size of the project, the amount of work required to gather all necessary information, collect references, and create the artwork needed. Some designs depending on their size, and, or complexity can be very time consuming to prepare, and require a lot of drawing time.

RESCHEDULING AND CANCELLATIONS:

Sometimes things come up, and you have to change your appointment date which is completely understandable. You are allowed to reschedule twice per project, and must be done a minimum of 48 hours prior to your appointment. Each time you reschedule after, there will be a $100 cancelation fee which will be deducted from your deposit.

If you have a large project taking several sessions, and you’ve already rescheduled two times; Don’t worry, you can still reschedule once after the last time that you were in to get tattooed without incurring a fee.

You are responsible for remembering, and showing up to your appointment on time. If you are late you will still be charged from the time you were scheduled. If you miss your appointment without notice, or cancel last minute (less than 48 hours before) there will be a service charge of either $100, or 50% of your deposit. Whichever is greater. Once you have used up your entire deposit you will be required to leave another in order to schedule again.

ARTWORK:

After your consultation, all you have left to do is get tattooed. Any minor changes needed can typically be done when you come in for your appointment, and meet with your artist.

I kindly ask for your understanding that tattoos are very personal, so I would prefer 3rd parties not be brought into the creation of the design, and that artwork, or rough drafts will not be photographed, or shared with clients via email, or mail before appointments as I believe it stifles the creative process. I prefer to avoid extensive back-and-forth communication or collaborative efforts after the initial consultation. If you feel the need to make changes to the content, or have a change of idea, please reach out promptly to schedule another consultation. Thank you for your understanding.

ADVICE ON CHOOSING THE RIGHT ARTIST:

It’s incredibly important to be absolutely sure about what you want, and choose your artist carefully. Artist vary in their degree of strengths, weaknesses, and styles. Always look at the work they have done in the past, and the work of other artists in your area to become more knowledgeable about quality, nuance, and abilities to see if they, or any, are compatible with your vision.

That will also help you avoid getting a bad tattoo, or one you’re not happy with. Everyone receives the tattoo that’s most fitting for them by the level of research they do, and it’s permanent.

Reviews, and referrals can be helpful in setting you on the right track towards finding the right person for your project. But should never be the single deciding factor in your choice. If you are making your decision solely based upon availability, or convenience. Your odds of getting the tattoo you envisioned diminish; Sometimes greatly. If you do your research, find the right artist by looking at several samples of different work, and work around the artists schedule you’ll be much happier. Patience is a virtue. This step is also important because it establishes a level of trust in the person that will be working on your project, and diminishes the urge to micro manage the creative process, or feel anxious, and you’ll be in a much more confident state of mind.

WHAT TO BRING AND WHAT TO EXPECT:

These are things that will help make your experience more pleasant, and make yourself as comfortable as possible. Some are necessary.

  1. You will want to be well rested, and avoid being hungover, or not drink alcohol the day before your appointment. Your skin can also be more sensitive right after you wake up. So you might want to make sure you give your body time to adjust before coming in.

  2. You need to eat at least 2 hours before your appointment as low blood sugar can increase your likelihood of fainting, and make sure you drink plenty of water. Bringing a snack might be helpful if you plan on sitting several hours.

  3. Avoid wearing skin tight clothing, or clothing with tight straps that might make indentations on skin, especially on, or around the area you’re getting tattooed. They can make you uncomfortable, and cause you to fidget, or move around. They can also distort the stencil, and, or potentially be a obstruction to your artist. You’ll want to wear loose fitting comfortable clothes to get tattooed in. For instance, something you would lounge around the house in on a day off, and avoid wearing your best. It would be a shame to get a speck of ink on expensive clothing.

  4. You may want to bring hair ties, or bobby pins if your hair being in the way might be a issue, and a sweatshirt to stay warm. If you are getting tattooed in a more private area a useful trick is to find an article of clothing (old t-shirt, or sweatpants) that you wouldn’t mind cutting a section out in the area getting tattooed. This will give you more privacy, and keep you a little warmer.

  5. It’s important to remain still, and that can sometimes take a bit of focus. It’s essential when tattooing lines especially. When you move around your artist has to stop, and wipe off the excess ink before they can continue in the area. Too much wiping can make you very sore in a short time. So I would encourage minimal use of things like smartphones, and try to remain as still as possible.

  6. Bringing a friend with you is fine, and we encourage people to have a good time. However, if you’re sitting several hours it can tend to get very boring for them. Friends need to stay in the front of the shop, however you’re welcome to bring one person at a time back to keep you company. However, your artist may need your undivided attention to give you the best tattoo possible.

  7. A lot of noise, or movement can be a distraction to your artist, or disturb other artists working in the area. We take our work very seriously, and would ask that people are quiet, and as respectful as possible. We try to make the experience as pleasant as we possibly can to give you the best tattoo possible.

  8. Being rude, harassment, bullying, intimidation, or any individuals showing signs of intoxication will not be tolerated. Service may be terminated, or temporarily suspended in the event that occurs. It’s important to make the shop a positive environment.

  9. We encourage bringing a snack. However, all food items are to be stored in a sealed container. If they are not, they must remain in the front lobby. Please remember to take all food related trash with you.
